EDITOR’S NOTE

Nowadays, Y-3 focused on more utilitarian and functional pieces, while in the Spring/Summer 2004 collaboration between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, the designer’s sense of irreverence could be felt throughout. In this collection, Yamamoto once again partnered with Japanese artist Saeko Tsumura, whose comic book–style graphics were printed on leather jackets, jersey pants, and this particular bomber. Garments of high-tech fabrics are made with sharp color combination and cut in various silhouettes, the tops, trousers, and skirts were mostly kept lean, while anoraks and sweatshirts were oversized and slouchy.
